Neutrals with flashes of pink

So my new Valentino babies got their first outing. I let them do the talking whilst pairing them with neutrals and just added flashes of pink. This may be my new favourite outfit. What do you think of it?
Skirt Burberry (old from The Outnet), top from H&M, bag Zara, watch Michael Kors, rings YSL and H&M, bangle Primark (all old).

Burberry Prorsum SS 12

If there was an award for the most innovative brand, Burberry and Christopher Bailey would definitely win it. Not only they were the first ones to live stream their show, every season they go even further and keep coming up with interesting ideas. In February they live streamed their show on the big advert screen in Piccadilly Circus and today they did a first ever Tweetwalk. What is it you ask? They posted pictures of outfits shortly before they hit the catwalk on Twitter @Burberry. And I picked some of them and here they are.
It was a star studded event and anyone who’s anyone attended, including the Body model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looking gorgeous in Burberry trench, Mario Testino, Emanuelle Alt, Rachel Zoe, Sienna Miller, Olivier Theysksen! to name just a few.
I remember last season the show finished with a fake snow, just the same as the menswear show previously, plus there were similarities in the design. I was interested if Bailey would do the same again and he did. Just look at the pictures above from the Burberry menswear SS 12 show and you can play spot the difference. The same wood beading is there, similar prints and so on. So it seems Christopher’s menswear shows are indicator of what’s coming for women.
And what came was of course amazing. Very English, very Burberry. Jewel tones are big for AW and continue into spring. Expect plum, mustard, navy, teal and more. I loved the bright trench in blue and there was another one in sort of mint green. Fabulous! There were lots or prints and stripes. As for the silouethes they are very lady like, lots of pencil skirt and I’m happy to say they keep around knee length. Oh and I must not forget the shoes! Sky-high sandals, open toe booties and wedges (my favourite).
Well done Christopher Bailey, you did it again. Another perfect collection.
Have a stylish day.

Burberry Prorsum · Chrisopher Bailey · Gucci · Michael Lewis · party feet · Tom Ford

Party feet – by Michael Lewis

Today’s Party feet post’s designer is a Central St. Martins Graduate, whose work I first spotted at London Fashion Week exhibitions. You couldn’t overlook his vertiginous heels and I was hooked straight away. In the past, this talented man worked with Tom Ford for Gucci and also his latest SS 11 collection and also with Christopher Bailey at Burberry to name just a few, but he’s already been getting praises for his own label.
Michael Lewis’s AW 11 collection was inspired by Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut and features intricate detailing in dark hues. His shoes are very playful and feminine. But they are not for faint-hearted as the cigarette heels and sculptured platform add to serious heights. I am absolutely loving them. Are you?

Introducing: Nancy Van Ostren AW 11

As promised before, I’m bringing you more pictures from the AW 11 collection by Nancy Van Ostren. I absolutely fell in love with her structural designs. The AW colour palette is mostly black, white and pink (yay:)) and few bits of petrol blue. Her signature use of embellishment adds interesting detailing. The shapes are very architectural, origami inspired. Working her way up at Zandra Rhodes, Jasper Conran and Burberry, her debut AW 10 collection was a hit. And judging by her latest designs, I expect to hear a lot about her! So make sure you remember this name now.

There are so many reasons for me to love this cover, I don’t know where to start.. Well, first you notice the colours. Yep my three favourite: pink, black, white (goes well with my blog:) ). Second of all the gorgeous dress designed by Christopher Bailey for Burberry. Also loving the model’s make-up. And that’s about it, but isn’t that enough?

Burberry Prorsum AW 11

My blog wouldn’t be my blog, if I didn’t write about Christopher Bailey’s collection for Burberry Prorsum (I’m his biggest fan). The show that took place yesterday had a very impressive front row and was watched by thousands online plus quite a few people at Picadilly Circus in London, where I reported from (and tweeted live). For me Christopher Bailey changed how I look at many things. I didn’t use to like military style, but in his way, it just looks great. And I never wanted a trench coat. I know I’m all about timeless pieces and a trench coat seems an important piece in woman’s wardrobe, but I just never liked them. They seemed frumpy. Well that was before the king of design took over Burberry. Now I want them all. Every season! And yet again he showed us a stunning selection. The beginning had a coat in probably every colour of the rainbow and I applaud him for that. Lots of collections still seem to cling on blacks, greys and browns so it’s nice to see colour. And the detailing! I especially love the belts that give the coats a nice shape and the tie belts with bows make it all very feminine yet strong and powerful. Oh and did I mention the dresses? No I just need to win a lottery…

London Fashion Week day 4

Today has been a very exciting day. Lots of the big name designers had their shows on today, but unfotunately I didn’t get to see any live. However I went to the live streaming of Burberry show at Picadilly Circus in London, which was full of very stylish people watching the show. I truly enjoyed it and Christopher Bailey again didn’t dissapoint. The show was a star studded event as expected (spotted at front row: Alexa Chung, Mario Testino, Lily Donaldson, Anna Wintour and the list goes on..) and the collection another top one. I love him and his designs! Next season I definitely have to apply for a ticket. But at least I’ve got pictures for you live from Picadilly and I am going to fully report on the show tomorrow.
I also bumped into the very talented Felder Felder ladies today, who seem really busy, but agreed to have their picture taken. And there was loads more, including meeting Alexander Wang at Liberty. All about it tomorrow and upcoming days. Stay tuned 🙂
Have a stylish day.

Handbag obsession

We all love handbags. We need handbags! To carry all the important stuff like lipstick and all 🙂 I was just looking at net-a-porter.com (as you do) all in the name of research.. And of course I found a great selection of handbags. All very desirable and colourful. Perfect for the hottest SS trend. My favourite is the pink Lanvin one (obviously), but red Chloe has very timeless shape and turquoise Burberry seems different and original. Want them all!

My favourite pre-fall collection

I promised you two posts about my favourite designers and here is the second one. This time about Christopher Bailey. I’m not gonna show you many pre-fall collections, but all of his work is always so good I just can’t help myself. I love every single piece. I could easily put all the pictures here (courtesy of style.com) but you can have a look there. I’ve tried my hardest to pick my favourite pieces although I would buy all if I could. There are some amazing dresses that can be worn day to night, amazingly cut trousers that will suit everyone and his signature trench coats with clever detailing. Dear Christopher you’re spoiling us for choice. Burberry Prorsum never looked better!
Have a stylish day.

Burberry Prorsum · Emma Watson

Cover girl – Emma Watson

If you read Daily mail regularly on Saturday, or you just picked up a copy randomly today like me, you may have seen the lovely Emma Watson on the cover of their mag Weekend. Judging by this picture I think it’s safe to say that she can put her Harry Potter days behind her. Turning from Hermione to a sexy kitten, I expect her career to be blossoming. Whether acting or modelling for Burberry I bet this is not the last we heard from her. I wish her all the best.
