Wow this year has really flown by. I can’t believe it’s nearly November! The summer time has officially ended (I did enjoy the extra hour in bed) and it seems to have gotten cold literally overnight. I feel like the whole October was so mild it seemed more like Indian summer but we have gone straight to winter. This weekend felt very cold and it’s the end of outfits like this one. I’m wrapping up from now on.
Good bye lighter layers and light fabrics, hello over the knee boots and cashmere (I just bought this jumper, it’s on sale and I have it in two colours). One thing I will keep on wearing is burnt orange (new popular colour for me as mentioned here) and I will definitely be pairing it with pink among other colours.
Recently I’ve been really into a paper bag waist skirts and trousers. It’s a very flattering style (your legs look longer and your waist smaller) and it’s very comfortable. I’ve been wearing these trousers a lot (as seen also here in more casual way) and I must say I love adding my own belt (rather than the one they come with) to change the look and dress it up as well. I must say I now own two designer belts and they have been such a great investment because they really elevate your look.
So who’s excited for November? I’m going to see a ballet I’ve never even heard of later in the month and I’m very excited. Also the Christmas decorations will go on soon everywhere and I really love London dressed up. And I must admit that as much as I’ve enjoyed the prolonged summer and such a lovely and warm October I am now ready for winter clothes and jumpers and coats and all that.
What are you looking forward to in the next few months?
Have a stylish day.
Wearing: top from last year, pants, shoes and bag Chanel
Hopefully by now you have seen my part 1 and part 2 of how to wear stripes. I showed you how to wear striped jacket and striped top and today I want to show you how to wear striped skirt. This is a final part of this series, but to be honest I wear stripes so much you will alway see me wearing them.
As I mentioned before it’s a very easy pattern to style and it looks very chic. Just always stick to the same colour palette if it’s something very colourful already. With a simple Breton top you can add another colour but with this skirt I chose same colours for the rest of my look. I actually wore this skirt already here and chose to bring out the Burgundy out of it, here I highlighted the pink.
This skirt is so versatile despite its many colours and can be styled many ways. I love wearing it and now I’m looking at these pictures it’s making me want to put it on again soon so maybe I’ll wear it tomorrow. It’s an easy A-line shape as well which I think suits most body shapes.
I hope that with my 3 different looks I’ve inspired you to wear more stripes. Unlike some other patterns they never go out of fashion and they are a fun print. Just keep the rest of the look simple. Choose any of the colours that are featured in the print for the rest of your look (in this case you can go for white, yellow, pale blue, rust, pink, Burgundy..) and you can’t go wrong. You might think this skirt is too colourful it would be difficult to style but it’s actually very easy.
Do you like stripes?
Have a stylish day.
Wearing: skirt, boots Zara from last year, jumper
In last week’s beauty post’s I promised to show you some of my favourite lipstick shades for autumn so here it is.
I still love pink lips in the fall I just go for deeper shades and choose more raspberry colours and even go for Burgundy. I don’t like anything too dark though as it doesn’t suit my skin tone. If you’re pale like me I’d say avoid dark colour of lipsticks. If you still however want to wear Burgundy this Tom Ford shade is perfect for you. It’s the one I’m wearing in the photo below (and top one on my hand). It’s quite sheer to start with but you can layer it for a stronger shade. I really love it.
Another one I really love and have been wearing a lot is Estee Lauder Thrill Seeker. It’s a gorgeous shade, has a really nice texture and feels nice on the lips.
If you prefer matte lips you will love the YSL stain. It’s got amazing staying power and I love the colour. It’s more purple but not too daring and looks really nice on. The only reason why I don’t wear it more often is that it feels very dry (like most matte lipsticks do) and I prefer moisturising ones.
Last but definitely not least is a Dior lipstick. I love their make up and this lipstick is no exception. I’ve already spoke about it last week but here’s the link again. It’s a gorgeous colour and lasts really well.
What are your favourite lipsticks for autumn?
Have a stylish day.
Today’s post is just a very quick one because it has been a super crazy busy week but next week I will be showing you my favourite lipstick colours for fall.
Lipsticks are my favourite beauty item, I am slightly obsessed with them and would definitely call myself a collector and a lipstick lover. I did a post earlier this year about some of my favourite lipsticks for summer (read it again here) but now it’s slowly starting to feel like fall I’m switching to darker colours and more raspberry pinks and burgundies. I will do a post next Friday (so don’t miss it!) about some of my favourite colours for this time of the year but for now I wanted to share with you two that I’ve been using nonstop last couple of days. The first one is from the latest Dior lipstick collection and the colour I’m loving is 755 Ultra Daring.(btw the colour looks different in the picture). It’s like a raspberry pink – perfect for this time of the year. And the other one pictured above is also from Dior and it’s more like a stain perfect for every day pictured above.
What’s your favourite lipstick? What are your favourite beauty products?
Have a stylish day.
I’ve changed my skincare routine completely this year after feeling whatever I was using wasn’t working anymore and my skin is the best it’s been. For me skincare is more important than make up and I am doing all I can to achieve a glowing skin and then let it shine and only enhance it rather than painting a face on.
I believe the products I was using before were good, but you need to change your lotions and potions regularly otherwise your skin gets used to the products and same ingredients. I’ve discovered Kiehl’s which I’m really loving at the moment and definitely want to try more products but overall I decided to try things from different brands rather than getting everything from one.
Other than doing the routine that I’m going to tell you about, I exfoliate once or twice a week (I use St. Ives Apricot scrub which is great and not expensive) and about twice a week (when I remember) I put on a hydrating masque overnight instead of anything else. I’ve been testing these from Peter Thomas Roth and so far I’ve been quite impressed.
I use a Thermal cleansing balm from Omorovicza which is oil based and very good for dry skin.
In the morning after I’ve cleaned my face, I use serum from Kiehl’s (review here) and then depending on what I’m doing that day and what my face needs I either use the Kiehl’s Glow Formula skin hydrator (which gives a really nice glow) or if I’m going to be spending a lot of time outside I use the Avene SPF 50. I always always wear SPF 25 minimum. After that I use eye cream and then apply make up. The Avene cream makes your skin quite white so leave some time to soak it in, but I really like it and the protection it gives me, especially during this heatwave.
In the evening after cleansing my face I alternate between the Dior serum and Kiehl’s Midnight recovery concentrate (review of both here). I seriously love both. With the Midnight recovery you only need a tiny bit. I got this sample ages ago and have been using it regularly and still haven’t had to buy the big size but I definitely will. I use a moisturiser after the Dior serum or before the Midnight recovery. I usually do one evening one thing and alternate the next evening. Once every few days I use a hydrating masque instead. At the moment I’m using the This Works night cream which seem really nice on the skin but I think the serums are the most important .
Have you tried any of these? How do you find them?
Have a stylish day.
Today I want to share with you few of my latest beauty discoveries. By now you probably know that I am beauty obsessed in the sense that I love buying and trying new beauty products and I recently started series on my instastories every Sunday, where I share my finds and products I love. And this is an extension of that and more in depth reviews.
I don’t often share hair products and I guess that’s because I haven’t really found my holy grail yet. I must say I usually love all Kerastase products but overall I’m still looking for the one and keep trying new things. The one thing I love though is L’Oreal Elnett hairspray. It’s used a lot by professionals and I can see why. It really is good and such a good price too.
So first up today is the Dry Shampoo Foam by Ouai. I’ve tried this after watching it on someone’s Instastories and I loved what it did for them. After trying this I was not disappointed. I love the fact that it’s a mousse so it makes your hair quite wet when you put it in your roots and it feels like it actually gives it a wash rather than just masking it with a powder. It’s such a genius idea! I love it. It doesn’t have a strong smell and I prefer it because some dry shampoos have an overpowering scent and you can tell when someone used them and it can be off putting. You only need very little and I will definitely buy this again.
Another one by Ouai. These are the only two products I’ve tried by the brand so far but I’m quite impressed with both so will probably try more. I’m not big on oil especially for hair because I’m worried they will make my hair greasy. But this Rose Hair and body Oil is quite a dry oil and when I’ve used it on my ends it gives them a bit of shine without being too much. And it smells amazing! I must say the fragrance sold it to me.. I’ve been using it on my body too and don’t judge me on my heels and it really softened them! I don’t know how about you but my feet get so dry in summer and I get hard skin and this is indulgent but my feet deserve it!
I’m sure you know how obsessed I am with lipsticks and glosses. A month doesn’t go by without me buying a few. You may have also noticed I’ve been really into Dior beauty recently and I couldn’t resist buying this Dior Addict lip Tattoo . It’s a lip tint rather than a full on lipstick and perfect for every day. You can layer it as much as you want and it lasts quite well. It gives a nice colour but it’s quite discreet. You can just tell you lips were stung by a bee!
After lipsticks, blushers and highlighters are my favourite make up products. I think they make such a big difference to your face. I’m not really into strong contouring but a sweep of highlighter and a bit of blusher makes me feel so much nicer. I have a few I use regularly but I was excited to try this liquid blush by Nars in one of their best selling shade Orgasm. It’s like a peachy pink and I believe it suits everyone. The colour is just gorgeous. A little goes a long way so be very careful when you’re using it. First time I used way too much. The application is really easy, it gives you a nice glow and it lasts all day. I’m impressed.
Last but not least another lipstick, this time by Tom Ford. I love their lipsticks as they are very moisturising and last very well. Surprisingly this is the first one I bought in ages (possibly because they discontinued my favourite shade Lilac Nymp but also possibly because I’ve been so obsessed with Dior). The colour 87 Playgirl is quite a strong pink but it’s so pretty for summer. I will be wearing it a lot. I have few make up bits from Tom Ford and I love the quality I’ve reviewed some here. It’s a bit pricey but they really are good. Everything lasts really well, they are well pigmented and the packaging is nice too. If you want to buy yourself a little treat TF lipstick is definitely worth it.
Have you used any of these products? What are your latest beauty discoveries?
Have a stylish day.
I have mentioned many times that I have dry sensitive skin. The one product that has made a huge difference is a serum! I don’t know how I lived before them..
Over the last say 5 years I’ve tried quite a few some better, some not so good. Today I want to share with you 5 that really made a difference and I would definitely buy them again and again and 100% recommend them.
1.) Clarins double serum was my first one ever and I loved it so much I used about 4 or 5 of them. The only reason I stopped using it was because I believe you should change your skincare routine every so often, otherwise your skin gets used to the ingredients and they become less effective. It has two separate parts that come out together and you can feel it working instantly. It smells amazing and really works. I recommended it to few friends and they all loved it too. I haven’t got any picture as I haven’t used it for a while but now that I’m writing about it I’m thinking about purchasing it again soon.
Correction: I’ve just noticed the serum has changed since I last used it and doesn’t have two separate parts any more but I hope and believe it works just as well.
2.) Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro serum. Again I’ve used 3 or 4 bottles and loved it. They call it Intense replenishing hydration for a reason. It’s got tiny microbeads that hold massive amount of moisture and it really does make a difference. I really like the Chanel Hydra range and used few of the products and definitely recommend them. They smell amazing too. I wrote more about them and all of the products below here.
I also use the Chanel Le lift serum occasionally. It’s more for an older skin, it’s quite heavy but prevents wrinkles and I use it as a precautionary measure once in a while.
3.) Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose . I started using this in March when my skin was in desperate need of some TLC. After the tough winter it was so dry I was desperate to try anything. By lucky coincidence I was invited by Dior for a facial and try to Prestige range and was hooked straight away. It’s quite pricey so I’m keeping it just for my evening routine. Overnight all your skincare is the most effective because when you’re sleeping your skin is repairing and renewing. This product definitely helps with all of that. You will feel it working straight away. Read more about my Dior facial and review of this serum here.
4.) Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. I’ve only discovered in recently after being given a sample. I was impressed after first try and purchased it immediately. Having very dry skin, many products don’t feel right and my skin often feels tight. After this the skin felt great immediately. I love the fact that it’s got Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C – two ingredients that are great for skin. They have brightening properties and help to keep moisture in. I can honestly tell you my skin is at the best condition it’s been in ages and it’s big part to this. I’ve changed my routine completely this year and will do a post soon about all the products I use in the morning and evening but I can tell you know this has definitely made a difference. Hooked
5.) Kiehl’s Midnight recovery concentrate. Again this is a recent discovery but I am hooked. I guess it’s more of an oil than a serum but put it on before going to bed, it gives you instant glow and you wake up with radiant skin. It feels amazing on skin and really does work wonders. Can be used with our without moisturiser and it’s a great size for travelling. You only need very little – I’m still using the sample I got few weeks ago but I am definitely buying the full size. This is going to be my new must have for years to come.
Have a stylish day.
