This season’s biggest trend

Polka dots have emerged as this Spring/Summer’s biggest trend and judging by what I’ve seen of the new collections so far, it’s here to stay. I personally love polka dots and declared my love for it already here, but if you haven’t got into the trend yet, don’t despair. This print is easier to wear than you think.

If you don’t feel brave enough to wear  it head to toe (polka dot dresses are everywhere!) why don’t you start with a smaller item like a top or even shoes! Polka dot shoes are so adorable (case in point).

But here I’m showing you hot to take it easy with polka dots and I can tell you this top has been on heavy rotation. It’s so easy to style, although it’s quite boxy and I do like to add a belt on it. It goes well with trousers and skirts as well.

If you’re new to polka dots, keep the rest of the outfit simple and stick to neutral accessories. Because I love this print I wanted to add a bit more colour to the look with my handbag. It’s my favourite styling trick – hence I have so many pink handbags – they’re the easiest way to add colour to your outfit. I actually wore this outfit for a breakfast at Laduree with my friend and then I went to work so I think it’s very versatile. Polka dots are smart enough for work but are still fun and playful. This outfit was comfortable but stylish, I definitely think the polka dots made it more interesting. What do you think?

This top is from  100% linen so it’s perfect for this heatwave and it’s now on sale! Get yours here.

Do you love polka dots?

5 things to do in London this summer

The main thing I love about living in London? There’s never shortage of things to do! And so much of it is for free! So with summer fast approaching here’s a few tips on what to do in and around London this year.

1.) Enjoy the blooming season. Even though these pictures were taken by displays made especially for the RHS Chelsea flower show (which has now finished), there’s never a shortage of beautiful flower arrangements and the city is in full bloom right now. If you love flowers, make sure you visit some of the vast gardens and parks London has to offer. The gardens at Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace are especially beautiful this time of the year and the rose garden in Hyde Park is my regular spot.  And let’s not forget Kew Gardens! They may seem a bit far out but so worth the trip! If you fancy a coffee and cake while enjoying blooming scenery, make sure you visit Peggy Porschen and you won’t be disappointed. They even have new flowery menu too.

2.) Make time for art and culture. The above photo was taken just before I visited the Swan Lake at Royal Opera House. I love going to ballet and opera and even theatre and musicals. There’s so much happening every day, we are literally spoilt for choice. And let’s not forget all the museums and galleries. This summer I’m definitely planning to see the Picasso exhibition, the Alaia one at Design museum is a must see and also the Monet and architecture. These are all paid for but if you want some culture without spending a penny, visit to National Gallery is always nice, also V&A museum is one of my favourites and the Wallace collection is just feast for eyes.

3.) Have a picnic. I don’t know how about you but I live outdoors in the summer. And I’m hoping for a really good weather this year. London has been quite good to us so far so let’s hope it stays. I just love having barbecues with friend and picnics even more. Throw some food in a basket, take a blanket, don’t forget your SPF and head to the nearest park. It’s likely you won’t be alone but it’s a great way to meet people too. Everyone is in better mood in the summer and definitely more chatty so who knows who you might bump into. Or take a book and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The nature really is at its best this time of the year.

4.) Make the most of the season. London really comes alive in the summer. There’s so many extra things happening. Many you have to book in advance but not all of them. I can’t wait for things like Wimbledon (on telly still haven’t been to the actually thing but definitely planning to one day..), ASCOT (even if you’re not into horse racing it’s such a fun thing to do), numerous festivals (whether musical or literary ones), open air theatre in Regent’s Park and pop ups and events that will be happening most of summer. I am excited just thinking about it.

5.) Take a trip. Fancy a bit of a change? London has great connections to so many places. Just hop on a train and you can go to the seaside, have a mini city break in some cute places (Cambridge is my favourite) or even jump on a Eurostar and be in Paris in two and a half hours. So what are you waiting for? Where is this summer going to take you?

What are your plans for this summer?

Rosy life

Dress ASOS (from last year), sandals Prada, bag via Amazon, sunglasses Miu Miu, bracelet Lola Rose

Life is good. As I am writing this drinking my first coffee of the, the sun is shining and that fact alone is making me happy. I love sunshine and warm weather. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it countless of times but due to unpredictable British weather that’s not always guaranteed so I appreciate it even more when it’s nice.

Anyway as we’re nearly halfway through the year I wanted to do a little life update and how I’m doing with my monthly tasks and things in general. One of the main goals was to try to find a man (at 36 I feel a bit of pressure from people around me) and it hasn’t happened yet. It certainly doesn’t get any easier as you get older..

But the main goal is to be happy. Single or settled. Try new things, learn something new, visit new places and simply enjoy every day. And I think that’s going well. I feel content and positive. Life is not perfect but it never is. My big focus lately has been my blog and social media ( I am slightly obsessed with Instagram)  and as frustrating as it sometimes can be, it means being creative and I definitely  enjoy that.

I try to push myself and make my content interesting therefore really think about new locations for shoots or places to visit that are interesting and/or photogenic and it’s been a fun process. I hope you enjoy what I do and I am forever grateful for all your likes and comments and support.

On a completely different note, these Prada sandals are the most comfortable ever! I’ve walked through many cities in them including cobbled Rome and I just love them. I must say they are a bit scratched now after all that use and I definitely want to get them in another colour. Comfort is key and they look pretty too!

How are you all? I would love to know more about you.

Have a stylish day.

June goal: Make the most of Spring

ASOS top, skirt Zara, shoes Valentino, bag Gucci

I guess June’s goal is fairly easy – Make the most of Spring. And I would say I have been enjoying it so far. I’m trying to go out as much as possible especially now the weather has been a bit nicer and I’m trying to do more of new things and go to new places. I’ve said it many times that I want to explore more of Britain and I have just actually come back from a weekend away in Somerset. I visited the county for the first time and we managed to see a little town called Wells which was very charming and spent a day in Bath which has been on my list for a while. I really enjoyed both and will tell you more about it in another blog post.

I have visited Kew Gardens for the first time and that’s crazy considering I’ve been living in London for 16 years. But finally I did it and loved it and definitely plan to go back soon again.

I didn’t go to the Chelsea Flower show but I really enjoyed all the decorations around Sloane Square and that’s where these photos were taken. Peggy Porschen was one of my favourites and I am not biased here (yes I love that place anyway) but they were just so pretty, I loved the pink bike and pretty flowers.

This is my favourite time of the year and I am really in my element and I love dressing for this season as well and I really am trying to enjoy every day and enjoy the longer days and do the things I love. I’ve got few nice things planned and I’m trying to say YES to more things although I have been concentrating on the blog a lot lately and although this goes up and down, I feel very motivated at the moment and I want to get a lot of great content and I have you enjoy coming here and reading this. Which I really appreciate by the way.

What is your favourite thing about Spring and ways to spend it?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Looking back at this year there were some not so great moments, but there were definitely some really good ones. I’ve been wanting to travel more and by going home to Czech republic twice, Paris 3 times and Cyprus and Rome, I think I’ve done quite well there. I am already booking Paris for my birthday in March and hoping to visit Venice and NYC next year so let’s hope that all goes well.

The thing I am most pleased about though is getting back to blogging and I have some big plans for next year in that regard. I am planning to start posting more often soon, with more beauty and lifestyle posts coming. I would love to know what posts do you enjoy reading and want to see more of.

What has been your favourite look of this year?

What are your dreams and goals for 2017?

Have a stylish day.
